Advocates For Christ Ghana has enjoins President Nana - Addo to sign the Human Sexual Rights and Family Value Bill into law considering the moral, social and cultural values of the nation.

It has therefore called on H E the President to ignore the threats issued by the Finance Ministry citing purported cut of funds from the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

The Ministry of Finance issued a statement cautioning the President to delay the signing of the bill presented to him by the Parliament of Ghana, indicating economic implications.

In a press release issued by the group, it described the statement by the Finance Ministry as baseless and urged the President to fulfill his responsibilities to the nation as outlined in article 106 of the 1992 constitution regarding the bill.

According to the group, given the current global geopolitics and economic fragmentation and the need for the Western world to build new and sustainable alliances.

"isolating Ghana based on its LGBTQ+ stance, would neither be wise nor in the interest of the IMF, the World Bank and the African Development Bank (AfDB). We anticipate that these institutions continue to maintain their neutrality" it said.

The group stressed that the IMF's primary mandate revolves around promoting global economic stability, supporting member countries in addressing financial challenges, fostering sustainable economic growth.

Advocates For Christ entreated the Western World to respect the existing rights, culture and religious values of other countries especially developing ones saying that same - sex practice should not be forced on Ghanaians.

It noted that some African and other countries with similar laws against LGBTQ+, and even with hasher punishment for offenders, have continued to have unperturbed program with IMF and other International Financial Institutions, with very little disbursement problems.

"Such countries include Burundi, Cameroon, Chad, Ethiopia, Gambia, Kenya, Liberia, Nigeria, Senegal, Togo, Tunisia, Zambia and Egypt among others" it emphasized.
