The Our Lady of Victory Grotto in the Ahafo Ano North Municipality of the Ashanti region, in the Goaso Diocese of the Catholic Church, has on Sunday, launched a Ten - Year Development Plan, with a call on all and sundry to donate to the work of God.

The plan includes the construction of several key facilities including a Grotto chapel, a 20 - seat water closet (WC), a hostel, staircase to the Grotto, an entrance to the Grotto, and a private adoration chapel.

The unveiled comprehensive ten - year development plan aimed at steering the Grotto prayer center towards a brighter and more promising future.

The Day also witnessed a significant milestone celebration of Benefactors Day in the Catholic church.

Rev Father George Kwadwo Ohemeng, the Director of Our Lady of Victory Grotto, emphasized the dual goals of the event to honor individuals and groups who have generously supported the Grotto’s mission and vision since its inception.

The Director solicited the support of Non Governmental Organisations (NGOs), individuals, groups and philanthropists to support this mission to help bring the plan to fruition.

Most Rev Peter Kwaku Atuahene, the Catholic Bishop of Goaso Diocese, emphasized the spiritually edifying benefits of the Grotto noting the numerous testimonies of answered prayers.

He encouraged everyone to visit and pray at the Grotto highlighting its conducive environment for prayer and spiritual reflection.

Rev Father Jacob Tadea Adomako in a message, urged Ghanaians to serve selflessly without prioritizing monetary gain.

Sharing his personal story as a case study, he emphasized the importance of focusing on future benefits rather than immediate rewards.

 Background

A Roman Catholic Priest called Rev Father Theresa Paul Amoako discovered this place which is the highest spot in the district at Manfo about nine kilometers from the municipal capital, Tepa.

When one stands on this highland, he or she can see all communities around the area far and near.

When Rev Fr Amoako discovered this sacred spot, the Traditional Rulers in the area warned him that the place was inhabited by wild animals, dangerous snakes and evil spirit. But the Rev Fr would go there in the night to pray.

He named the spot "Victory Grotto of the Lady Mary" and has now become a sacred place of worship for the Catholics and Non - Catholics throughout the country and beyond.

Thousands of Christians flock to this spot to pray for spiritual powers all the year round.
