Science and Technology, The World's Lifeblood In Any Pandemic : Ing Peter Antwi Boasiako, Deputy Director - General, CTVET writes

 On November 14, I had the honour and privilege of delivering the keynote address at the World Young Scientist Summit 2024.

 The event, themed “Converging the World’s Talents, Creating a Better Future,” focused on “Youth Innovation – Fostering New Quality Productive Forces".

The summit culminated in the prestigious World Young Scientists Award Ceremony on November 17 at the Wenzhou City Ouhai Olympic Sports Center in China.

 In my speech, I highlighted Ghana's recognition of the transformative power of technology and innovation to bring about change.

I underscored the importance of science as a guiding force in identifying effective solutions across fields such as engineering, technology, healthcare, and agriculture.

I encouraged young scientists at the event to collaborate in leveraging science and technology to tackle global challenges, including environmental degradation and climate change.

I also shared the significant progress Ghana has made in the past seven years to improve Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education.

 I highlighted the important role of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) as a global catalyst for addressing unemployment.

I urged the young scientists to "work together to harness the full potential of science and technology for the benefit of humanity."

In conclusion, I emphasized that innovation drives technological advancement and growth.

 I encouraged the world’s young scientists to transcend international boundaries and challenge themselves to reach new heights, unlocking the potential of science for the betterment of humanity everywhere.
