THE 8TH ANNUAL AFRICA INVESTMENT FUNDS AND ASSET MANAGEMENT FORUM TO BE HELD IN LONDON

The 8th edition of the annual Africa Investment Funds and Asset Management (AIFAM) Forum for 2023 is scheduled to be held on 11th and 12th October this year at The Landmark, London.

The forum would be happening on the theme, "Paving the Way for Global Institutional Investment

into Diverse African Markets".

OVERVIEW

The 8th Annual AIFAM Forum, arguably the foremost and longest - running institutional investment forum in Africa, successfully inaugurated in South Africa, at the Johannesburg Stock Exchange

(JSE) Auditorium, on 23rd January 2013.

It was inaugurated under the theme, "Accelerating Africa's Sustainable Economic Growth through Institutional Funds

Investment".

John Oliphant, the then Principal Executive Officer at the Government Employees Pension Fund (GEPF), set a positive tone for the AIFAM Forum through an

insightful keynote presentation titled, "Investment Opportunities in Africa — The GEPF's Plan to Invest in the African Growth Story".

In his presentation, Oliphant

highlighted that the GEPF was the largest pension fund in the continent, valued at ZAR1, 2 trillion, as of 31st May 2013. 

This presentation was focused at

highlighting investment opportunities that were available throughout the continent, and how the GEPF got to be the top fund in Africa, and also highlighting the

investment areas that the GEPF had target to allocate to.

ABOUT THE FORUM

Sustainable investing has become a global imperative, compelling institutional investors to think outside the box and consider the vast array of alternatives that the new normal unveils, and Africa has emerged the next destination for

investors.
