 The impactful project is sponsored by the MasterCard Foundation, in collaboration with The World University Services of Canada (WUSC) Ghana and Social Enterprise Ghana.

The University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) is a proud partner in the implementation of the initiative in the Bono Region.

This project, titled “Accelerating Change Through Innovation in Agricultural TVET (ACTIVATE),” spans five years and is focused on empowering the youth, particularly those aged 15 to 35, including persons with disabilities, women, displaced persons, and refugees.

Some exclusive benefits to the project training include no tuition fee, an allowance to cover transportation and food, a National Certification from Commission for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (CTVET), an opportunity to undertake Workplace Experience Learning (WEL), and that the training will be conducted in all the 16 regions of Ghana.

It is the mission of the project to provide comprehensive training across various agricultural value chains, as outlined in the attached flyer.

The training will be conducted at the Okuafo Pa Agribusiness Centre located in Kyeremasu, within the Dormaa East District. This centre is a state-of-the-art facility recognized for its modern approach to agribusiness education, serving as a model for similar initiatives nationwide.

Over a period of three months, participants will engage in hands-on training, equipping them with practical skills and knowledge necessary for success in the agricultural sector.

Training Areas include * CASHEW NURSERY ESTABLISHMENT AND MANAGEMENT * CASHEW FARM OPERATION AND MANAGEMENT * HARVESTING AND PROCESSING OF CASHEW * HATCHERY, PROCESSING AND MARKETING IN POULTRY * MANGO NURSERY AND PLANTATION MANAGEMENT oIL PALM FARM MANAGEMENT * MANGO HARVESTING, PROCESSING AND MARKETING * OlL PALM NURSERY ESTABLISHMENT *OlL PALM FARM MANAGEMENT * OIL PALM PROCESSING * AGRICULTURE AND TRACTOR SYSTEMS *WOKSHOP PROCESSES & ENGINEERING MATERIALS • AGRICULTURAL MACHINERY OPERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE

Upon completion, participants will receive a Competency-Based Training (CBT) certificate, which is nationally accredited as a CTVET qualification.

What can participants expect from this training?

Comprehensive Training Participants will learn from certified CBT facilitators who possess extensive expertise in their respective fields, ensuring a high-quality educational experience.

Mentorship Opportunities

The program offers participants a unique chance to connect with industry leaders who will provide valuable insights and guidance, fostering their personal and professional growth.

Skill Development

Trainees will acquire essential agripreneurship skills that will not only enhance their employability but also empower them to launch their own agribusiness ventures. 

Certification

Successful completion of the program will result in a full qualification CTVET certificate or a certificate of competence, which are significant credentials in the agricultural industry.

Financial Support

Participants will receive stipends throughout their training period, alleviating financial pressures and allowing them to focus on their personal growth and learning.
