The Atebubu College of Education (ATECOE) on Friday passed - out a total of 347 students on their successful completion of a four - year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) at the 10th congregation at Atebubu, in the Bono East region.
Including 183 males and 164 females, three graduates received first class honours, 125 had second class upper, 156 recorded second class lower, 60 had third class and three received pass.
The ceremony, held on the theme, "Enhancing Information Technology in contemporary teacher education: The role of the Colleges of Education", was attended by academic scholars, traditional authorities, alumni of the college among other stakeholders.
Mr Kwasi Adu Gyan, the Bono East Regional Minister, in his remarks, noted that the government has introduced key education reforms to transform teaching and learning, and improve outcomes under the Education Strategic Plan (ESP 2018 - 2030).
He stressed that these education reforms were expected to contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) four, which centered on quality education.
The Regional Minister urged the Governing Board and Management of ATECOE to provide sound and visionary leadership to support the successful training of competent teachers for the Bono East region and beyond.
He implored the graduates to use the skills and knowledge acquired in real life situations to impact society positively adding that " you are going to advance in life by learning new ideas after graduation".
The Principal of the Atebubu College of Education, Mr Addai Boateng, in his address, disclosed that the college which was established in 1965 with few students and staff, now has 1,628 students, and 95 academic and supporting staff.
He appealed to government to do expansion on students accommodation, toilet facilities for both male and female students, and to complete all stalled projects in the college.
Mr Boateng urged the Ministry of Education to recruit more academic and supporting staff to the college to replace retired staff to augment the school's labour force, for the academic excellence of the country.
The Principal entreated Alumni of the college, individuals and groups among other stakeholders to come onboard and support the school's infrastructure agenda saying "together we can make our great institution great and strong".
