DR HASSAN AYARIGA WRITES : PACKING THE JUDICIARY WITH NDC JUDGES COMMENT - TWO WRONGS DO NOT MAKE A RIGHT
Your Excellency, the Former President John Mahama, I beg to disagree with you on the issue of packing the judiciary with NDC lawyers and judges to balance the system.
Mr John Dramani Mahama, the Flag bearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), the largest opposition party in Ghana, stated that the country's judiciary system was fully packed with Judges affiliated to the ruling government.
In a follow - up, the Former President disclosed that he would also fill the country's courts with NDC Judges, should he win the upcoming election come 2024.
Two wrongs don't make a right Mr President. I think we need to make our judicial system more responsible, transparent, and robust.
The judicial system must be independent from political interference.
What happens if another party comes to power? Should they also pack the judiciary with only their party lawyers and judges?
We need to introduce constitutional reforms to make our judiciary more patriotic and independent.
Thank you
