Kwakyekrom D/A Basic School at Ntotroso in the Asutifi North District of the Ahafo Region has celebrated its 35th year of establishment.

The anniversary, themed "Investing in the Next Generation through Education," brought together a wide array of stakeholders, including staff of the Ghana Education Service, traditional leaders, former students, parents, and community partners.

The milestone served as a platform to reflect on the school's journey and to address the pressing needs of the institution as it looks toward the future.

The Headteacher of the school, Badu Yeboah, expressed his sincere gratitude to the stakeholders for their consistent support, particularly for the activities that led to the successful relocation of the school to its present site.

However, Mr. Yeboah noted that the lack of staff housing remains a significant challenge, as many teachers are forced to commute from other towns every day.

He explained that this daily travel impedes effective teaching and learning and appealed to the public and corporate bodies to support the construction of on-site staff accommodation.

Traditional leaders, led by the Paramount Chief of Ntotroso, Barimah Twereko Ampem, were present to offer their support and guidance.

The paramount Chief admonished the teachers to perform their duties with passion and dedication, emphasizing that the heart of education lies in the commitment of the educator.

He further urged students and parents to accord teachers the respect and care they deserve, noting that a supportive community environment is essential for academic success.

The Asutifi North District Director of Education, Naomi Asantewaa, also addressed the gathering, calling for a unified approach to achieving holistic education.

She maintained that for students to truly thrive, there must be strong collaboration between teachers, parents, the government, traditional leaders, and the students themselves.

She stressed that each party has a key role to play in the educational value chain and that success cannot be achieved in isolation.

In her concluding remarks, Director Asantewaa turned her attention to the character of the students, urging both parents and teachers to ensure strict discipline among the current generation.

She noted that academic achievements must be paired with good conduct to truly prepare the youth for the future.

The celebration ended with a renewed commitment from the Ntotroso community to support the school in its mission to provide quality education for all.
