Enhancing Local Governance : Create Innovative Ideas To Generate Resources For Community Development -- Nana Yaw Basoa Urges Assembly Members

 The Ahafo Representative of the Council of State, Nana Yaw Basoa, has charged newly inaugurated Members of the Asutifi North District Assembly to create more innovative ways to solicit funds and resources for development in their localities to complement government's limited budget.

He also urged the members of the Assembly to acquaint themselves with the laws of local government and decentralization in order to avert all forms of conflict with the District Chief Executive (DCE) and other relevant key stakeholders of the Assembly.

 He stated these on Monday at Kenyasi in the Ahafo region on the inauguration of the fourth Assembly of the Asutifi North District Assembly.

 A total of 37 Members were inaugurated and sworn - in with a passionate call to exhibit selflessness, devotion to duty and doing good to humanity among other traits in the discharge of their official assignment.

Nnuro Ameyaw, the Assembly Member for Wamahinso Electoral Area, was later elected as the Presiding Member of the Assembly.

 The Council of State Representative entreated the Assembly members to exhibit selflessness, devotion to duty, respect for all and doing good to humanity in the discharge of their duty.

Nana Yaw Basoa implore the Asutifi North District Assembly to routinely organise workshops to build the capacity of the members of the Assembly ahead of the effective performance of the duty ahead.

 He implored the District Assembly to provide logistical and technical support to the Assembly members to organise town Hall meetings, communal works and other civic education programmes.
