BONO EAST REGIONAL MINISTER, CHIEFS INSPECT FACILITIES FOR MILITARY BARRACKS AT ATEBUBU

Mr Kwasi Adu Gyan, the Bono East Regional Minister, on Wednesday 20th September, 2023 inspected office and residential accommodation facilities for temporary use as barracks for the military in Atebubu.

The barracks would serve the people in the eastern corridor of the Bono East region namely Atebubu - Amantin, Kwame - Danso, Prang, Kajaji, and Yeji with their adjoining communities and beyond.

Mr Kwasi Adu Gyan was accompanied by the Military Command in the region, the Atebubu - Amantin Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Edward Owusu, and chiefs from the Atebubu Traditional Council (ATC).

The facility was developed by the World Vision International (WVI), a Christian Non - Governmental Organisation (NGO), which is bringing its relief intervention programmes in the area to an end.

According to the Minister, maintenance of peace and security is the best ingredient for any development - oriented country saying "the Akufo - Addo led government will continue to ensure that every body in the country is protected".

Having satisfied with the facilities, he assured, the Defence Minister, Mr Dominic Nitiwul, will soon open the place for the permanent stay of his men.

Mr Kwasi Adu Gyan stressed that plans were far advanced to get the Kintampo barracks and the regional barracks at Techiman fully established.

The Adontenhene of the Atebubu Traditional Council, Nana Owusu Gyimah, on behalf of Nananom, pledged support in any form within their capacity to help the establishment of the barracks.
