Apostle Patrick Konadu Yiadom, the Sunyani Area Apostle of the New Apostolic Church, has issued a direct appeal to President John Mahama to fulfill his campaign promise by signing the Human Sexual Rights and Family Values Bill (commonly known as the Anti-LGBTQ+ bill) into law.

Speaking during the climax of the church’s Annual Women’s Easter Convention held at Goaso in the Ahafo Region on Sunday, the Apostle expressed concern over the delay, noting that while the President has been in office for over a year, the bill remains pending.

Apostle Yiadom emphasized that the Easter season provides a symbolic opportunity for the President to renew his commitment to the Ghanaian people. He argued that the legislation is a reflection of the collective will of the

"The practice is frowned upon by all major religious organizations in the country—Christianity, Islam, and traditional faiths. This shows the country in its entirety is against the practice, and our President must comply," he noted

He further noted that assenting to the bill would Solidify Ghana’s identity as a deeply religious nation, Protect cultural traditions and societal values and Uphold the dignity of natural sexual intercourse as recognized by Ghanaian heritage.

Delivering the keynote sermon, Apostle Yiadom transitioned from policy to faith, entreating believers globally to harness the "resurrection power of Jesus Christ" to practice forgiveness.

He reminded the congregation that just as mankind craves divine forgiveness for iniquities, individuals must forgive one another regardless of the gravity of the offense.

The four-day convention brought together women from across the Ahafo and Bono regions. Gifty Ampaw, the Women’s Group Coordinator for the church, highlighted that the gathering was more than just a religious service.

Key activities during the convention included Marriage Seminars: Teaching and encouraging good marriage practice and Knowledge Sharing: Quiz competitions to test biblical and general knowledge.

Others are Skill Building: Workshops focused on unique skills to complement daily Christian life and Fellowship: Sharing the "love, peace, and joy" brought by the resurrection of Christ.

As the convention concluded, the overarching message remained clear: a call for both spiritual renewal among the citizenry and decisive legislative action from the Jubilee House.
