Stronger Collaboration, Innovation And Excellent Service Delivery, Key For Ghana's Tourism Recovery, Growth - Dr Kwesi Eyison

Building stronger relationships for collaboration, innovation and excellent service delivery is key to Ghana's Tourism and hospitality industry recovery and growth, Dr Kwesi Eyison, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Pacific Tours, has stated.

 According to him, innovation is the heartbeat of any thriving industry including the country's tourism and hospitality sector and that throughout history, the industry has adapted to global changes from digital transformation to sustainable tourism practices.

Dr Eyison noted that while innovation drives the future, excellence in service delivery defines the present, setting the standard for exceptional service to ensure that visitors to Ghana leave with unforgettable memories. 

"through the luxury of our hotels, the professionalism of our tour operators, mouthwatering cuisines, evolving transport and car rentals, remarkable experiences offered in our restaurants, sights and scenes is what will set us apart on sustainable basis" he stressed.

 Dr Kwesi Eyison delivered a speech titled, "celebrating innovation and recognizing excellence in Ghana's Tourism Sector" as the Guest Speaker at the inaugural Ahafo Regional Tourism and Hospitality Awards September 19, 2024 in Goaso.

The Guest Speaker reechoed the importance of building a stronger relationships for collaboration between the GTA (the regulator) and its stakeholders through mutual respect, trust, shared vision, communication, providing support for industry players, creating conducive environment for businesses to thrive.

 "We can collectively work towards the rebound and revitalization of our tourism industry. In today's fast - changing world, no single entity can drive progress alone. Unity of purpose will ensure our continued success" the CEO implored.

Dr Kwesi Eyison said Ghana's tourism sector has shown resilience in the face of adversity and that as we work towards a stronger rebound, it is essential to leverage our strengths, rich culture, diverse landscapes, and vibrant history while embracing innovation and enhancing service delivery. 

The Guest Speaker inspired other stakeholders in the tourism and hospitality industry to strive for higher standards and foster a culture innovation and continuous improvement for a sector that can withstand future challenges and continue to thrive.

 "As we move forward, let us continue to inspire one another, innovate boldly and strive for excellence in our work places.

Let's ensure that tourism sector reaches new heights, a pillar of sustainable economic growth and a shining example to others" he noted. 

The CEO thanked the GTA for their unwavering commitment to promoting Ghana as a top tourism destination, efforts to strengthen relationships with stakeholders and creating conducive environment for the industry. 

Dr Kwesi Eyison congratulated the various winners of the maiden awards and charged them to do more in order to win more while encouraging the rest of potential winners to double their efforts in the years ahead emphasising that together we can make Ahafo a Tourism hub of Ghana. 

He commended the Ahafo Regional Director of the Ghana Tourism Authority, Alfred Asumadu for his relentless efforts towards the revival, promotion and marketing of Tourism sights and scenes, and hospitality industry in the area noting that "posterity will forever be grateful to you". 

The awards aimed at celebrating and recognizing individual organizations for demonstrating excellence, innovation in the sector, encouraging stronger rebound of Tourism in Ghana, building relationships between the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) and its stakeholders. 

Special awards including two star hotel of the year, one star hotel of the year, budget hotel of the year, restaurant of the year - grade 2, and the restaurant of the year - grade 3.

 Others were the traditional caterer (chop Bar) of the year, and drinking Bar of the year, the Tourism oriented media of the year - online, digital tourism icon of the year and corporate organization of the year.

Winners of the awards included the Zeniel Oasis Hotel, Ahafo TV, Wooden Tower Restaurant and Bar, Alabama Hotel, Emmanuel Adu Gyamfi (Journalist and Blogger - asempadawuro.com), Newmont Ahafo Mines among others. 

The awards event was attended by traditional authorities, religious leaders, Journalists, the various Heads of Departments and Agencies, staff of the GTA, stakeholders in the Tourism and hospitality sector, Ahafo Regional Co - ordinating Council and a section of the public.
