Lawyer Justin Frimpong Kodua (JFK), the General - Secretary, New Patriotic Party (NPP) has said that unsavory comments, insults, disrespect, and bias stance by some Broadcasters Affront To Peace and stability of the country.

 He bemoaned how this menace has been happening on the country's airwaves especially during election years saying that such people are nation wreckers and must be controlled.

 The General - Secretary stated that ridiculing and disrespectful acts of some persons behind the console against elderly people of society especially political leaders is unethical, uncultured, shameful and unparalleled to democracy.

Lawyer Justin Frimpong Kodua entreated the National Media Commission (NMC), Ghana Journalists Association (GJA), Ghana Independent Broadcasters Association (GIBA) and Private Newspaper Publishers of Ghana (PRINPAG) to streamline the airwaves to avoid confusion and conflict.

 He was speaking as the Special Guest at the opening ceremony of the maiden Ahafo Media Conference (AMC) on Friday 16th February, 2024 at Goaso in the Ahafo region.

 The conference, held on the theme, "development of Ahafo region, the role of the media" was aimed at bringing media practitioners in the region together to take stock and plan for the year ahead.

 It was attended by Ahafo Regional Minister, Yaw Boakye, Members of Parliament, Members of NPP and NDC, security agencies and section of the public.

The General - Secretary of NPP indicated that Ghana is currently enjoying press freedom due to the repelled criminal libel law by Former President John Agyekum Kufuor adding that the NPP is always known for championing the freedom, independent and empowerment of the media landscape in Ghana.

He used the platform to pledge the full commitment of the government of Nana Akufu - Addo and the NPP to ensure peaceful and incidence - free 2024 election noting "together, Ghana will be great and strong".

Lawyer Justin Frimpong Kodua entreated political parties in the country to advice their leaders, supporters, communication officers and sympathisers to embrace peace and harmony before, during and after the upcoming election emphasising " NPP will accept every verdict of the elections come December ".

The AMC expressed appreciation to Aston Hotel, Golden Team Mining Company, Iddi Omaro Enterprise, Peace and Love Furniture Works, Addo K Agrochemicals, Sam Quality Enterprise, Tailors and Dressmakers Association - Ahafo region, AB One among other companies for supporting the conference.
