African Youth Are Game - changers To Drive Continent's Economic Growth, Development -- Dr Mahamudu Bawumia

The Vice President of Ghana, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has indicated that African youth are game - changers to drive the continent's economic growth and Development.

He noted that the leading role played by young persons in the success story of countries cannot be underrated.

Dr Bawumia stated these in a speech read on his behalf by Mr Joe Ghartey, Former Attorney - General of Ghana at the matriculation ceremony of University of Abuja on January 27, 2024 in Nigeria.

Focused on the youth and their importance in the development of Africa, the speech, entreated young persons in the continent to rise up and get involved in all spheres of life.

The matriculation event for Doctoral students and learners offering Masters programmes at the Business school was well attended by the academia, political leaders, business owners and other stakeholders.

Dr Bawumia, who is also the Flag bearer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the upcoming December general elections in Ghana, hailed President Akufo - Addo for prioritising youth training, development and empowerment.

"There are many youth in our government in Ghana serving in many sectors of the economy towards the progress of the country and beyond" he reiterated.

He urged other African countries to believe in the youth, empower them to shine in every area in society saying that together, we can make the continent great and strong.

The Vice President expressed appreciation to the management and staff of the University of Abuja for honouring him and his government.

Mr Joe Ghartey attended the matriculation ceremony with a delegation from the Ghana High Commission in Nigeria.
