The Management of Bono East Regional Centre for National Culture (CNC), led by Dr Barimah Asumadu - Sakyi, the Regional Director, on Thursday, officially informed the Bono East Regional Minister, Hon Kwasi Adu - Gyan, the selection of the region to host the national event.
The Regional Director assured Mr Adu Gyan of the Center's preparation towards the organisation of the National Festival of Arts and Culture next year( NAFAC 2024).
The region is to host the national biennial festival next year following the sterling performance of the region at NAFAC 2022.
Dr Asumadu - Sakyi expressed appreciation to the Regional Minister and the Regional Co -ordinating Council (RCC) among other stakeholder institutions, for supporting the activities of the CNC.
The National Festival of Arts and Culture is an event which is organised by the National Commission on Culture every two years, to promote regional cultural heritage in Ghana.
The management of CNC used the opportunity to present to the Regional Minister the NAFAC symbol, an indication of the region's turn to host the festival.
Mr Adu - Gyan expressed the RCC's preparedness to host the festival next year and thanked the management for their commitment to leading the region to be the best in Arts and Culture.
The Regional Minister emphasised that hosting the NAFAC in the Bono East region will boost the local economy, project the rich culture of the people and the numerous tourism potentials in the region.
