Ghana's TVET Commission : Academia, NDC Members Support Dr Patrick Essein's Appointment As Acting Director-General

Some members of the Academic spaces in the country and beyond, including Lecturers, and a section of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have praised Dr Patrick Essein on his indepth knowledge, expertise and massive contribution to Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).

 To this, they have unanimously endorsed Dr Patrick Essein for the appointment of Director-General of the TVET Commission by President John Mahama in order to reset Education and Training on the sector for national development.

Background

Dr. Patrick Essein is A Senior lecturer from the University of Cape Coast and is also the Deputy Welfare Director for Central Region, NDC.

Dr Patrick Essein has had the privilege of working with the Commission for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (CTVET) for nearly a year, focusing on the Competency-Based Training (CBT) Curriculum.

Specifically, Dr Patrick Essein serves as the expert on Artificial Intelligence Carriculum on Learning Material, contributing to the development of curricula for National Proficiency I & II, National Certification I & II, and HND levels.

Plans are underway to extend this work to B.Tech and, subsequently, M.Tech programs.

The technical background Dr Patrick Essein spans from Asuansi Technical Institute to the then Takoradi Polytechnic.

A Call for Appointment

This expertise equips Dr Patrick Essein with a solid foundation for the management of TVET role in Ghana. Dr Patrick Essein should be considered for a position of Director- General with CTVET.

The Gallant Cadres of NDC believe that the expertise and commitment of Dr Essein will go a long way to advancing Technical Education that aligns with objectives of TVET and the resetting Ghana agenda of the NDC.

Securing this position by Dr Patrick Essein would provide him the platform to serve the country, Ghana, contributing to our shared mission of TVET.

 Contribution

Dr Patrick Essein was consulted for by CTVET on developing the Learning Materials for Artificial Intelligence (AI) using the competence based training (CBT) concept.

He is also a Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) expert and ChiefExecutiveOfficer (CEO) of Molex Foundation Africa, a leading organization in STEM and the organizer of SHEROES in STEM initiative focusing on Robotics and AI.

The University of Cape Coast Lecturer has been demonstrating his strong technical background and commitment by teaching and impacting his skills and knowledge on the area via many radio and television programs around the world.

To this, there are many other people who believe that Dr Patrick Essein competence and expertise are enough to be appointed as a Director-General of CTVET.
