West African Civil Society Institute (WACSI) in collaboration with A Rocha Ghana, has successfully completed a 3 - day mobilising support – perfection skills training for nine (9) organisations.

The training workshop was organised on 26th November to 1st December, 2024 at Koforidua in the Eastern region, and 4th to 6th December, 2024 at East Legion, Accra.

The beneficiary organizations include the Concern Citizens of Atewa Landscape, Youth Alliance for Green Ghana, Ghana Youth Environment Movement,

Ghana Environmental Advocacy Group. Others are the Youth Volunteers for Environment Ghana, Flower, Environmental Report, Northcode Ghana, and SILDEP.

The organisations, represented by 18 participants, are now well - equipped with communication and presentation skills.

Participants also gained valuable insights into legal frameworks and how to effectively make legal arguments for their initiatives.

The training is part of the Strengthening the Roots initiative.

A Rocha Ghana and WACSI expressed gratitude to their partners, Wilde Ganzen and Change the Game Academy, for making this training workshop possible.

About WACSI

WACSI was established by the open society Initiative for West Africa (OSIWA) in 2005 to reinforce the capacities of Civil Society in the sub - region.The institution became operational in July 2007.

The role of WACSI is to serve as a resource center for training, research, experience sharing, and dialogue for Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in West Africa (W/A).

The vision of the institute is to strengthen CSOs as strategic partners for the promotion of democracy, good governance and natural development in the sub - region.

Others are species and ecosystem conservation and management, climate change mitigation and payment for ecosystem services, and complementary livelihood development and enhancement.

The rest are environmental conservation education and advocacy, creation care and interfaith engagement.
