Albert Adu - Boahen Nsiah Afriyie, a leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Asutifi North Constituency, has declared his intention to contest in the upcoming parliamentary primaries of the party in the area.
According to him, the decision was geared towards providing effective leadership, innovative solutions, and a fresh perspective to serve the best interest of the constituents.
Mr Adu - Boahen disclosed these at a press conference to officially announce his political decision and vision on Tuesday 7th November, 2023 at Kenyasi in the Ahafo region.
The conference was attended by some members of the party, elected officers, non - party people, family and friends, businessmen and women, traders among other stakeholders in the area.
He said throughout the past months, I have engaged in significant discussions and reflections from members, polling station, electoral areas, zonal and constituency executives of our party, council of elders, family and friends among others on my intention.
"the overwhelming support and encouragement I have received from all stakeholders within and outside the NPP have further fueled my decision to contest" the aspirant stated.
Mr Adu - Boahen noted that he was spiritually, psychologically, emotionally, intellectually, physically and patriotically prepared to embark on this well - thought and people - supported political journey.
With great humility, he indicated, i formally announce that when the party opens nominations later this year, God willing, I shall avails myself to contest for the position of NPP Parliamentary Candidate for Asutifi North Constituency ahead of election 2024.
The PC hopeful pledged his commitment to uphold the principles of the NPP, work collaboratively with all stakeholders, promote decent campaign practices rooted in unity respect, and effective communication.
As an aspirant, Mr Adu - Boahen said, I believe in the strength of the party, the potential for change, and the importance of collectively advancing the welfare of the constituency.
"through my diverse experience and knowledge gained from grassroots interactions, and my ability to contribute to addressing pressing issues of the constituency, I can say that I am the winnable candidate" he added.
Over the years, in the front line politics of the constituency, he stressed, I have been known for bringing divided fronts together, promotion of inclusiveness, and the broad participation of ordinary people in the affairs of the party.
The PC hopeful emphasised that members and executives of the party deserve a fair share of the prosperity that comes along with being in government saying " I'm the hope for those neglected by the prevailing winner - takes - all system".
Mr Adu - Boahen solicited support and guidance from the rank and file of the party at the enclave throughout the process of achieving his vision of partnering Dr Bawumia for a resounding victory come 2024.
He admonished that "together, we can achieve great things, uplift our party and bring about the positive transformation our constituents deserve. Let us rise and build to make Asutifi North great and strong".
Francis Adu Adjei, a leading member of NPP in the constituency, tauted the massive contribution of Mr Adu - Boahen to the development of the party noting "he is the right person to break the 8 with Dr Bawumia".
He implored members of the party especially delegates, to support the great vision of Mr Adu - Boahen to make the NPP attractive in the area, improves the lives of members and effectively lobby for key infrastructural projects
