Littering around communities, gatherings, markets and other places in Ghana has been a major challenge to government especially the huge financial investment earmarked annually for its management.
Uncontrolled waste on the environment has its own health consequences on the lives of residents of the country and its associated cost burden on the individual and government.
I introduce to you a young man who is making positive impact with waste product in the Ahafo region of Ghana. Anthony Acquah has been converting waste bottles and Sachets to litter bins and flower pots for households, offices and other institutions in Goaso for the past eight years.
"This is my small contribution to the socio - economic growth of the country and saving the environment from dying of poison" he tells Asempa Dawuro Newspaper.
According to Mr Acquah, though he is doing the project solely in a small way, he is willing to impact the skill and knowledge to the youth of Ghana especially Ahafo region if he is supported with funding and equipment.
He stressed that "together, we can make our environment a wonderful place to live in good health and comfort".
