The Member of Parliament (MP) for Essikado-Ketan Constituency in the Western Region, Joe Ghartey, has lauded the development of fire training schools in Ghana under President Akufo - Addo administration.
Since independence, he noted, Ghana had only one fire training school until President Akufo - Addo took office in 2017.
Mr Joe Ghartey said President Akufo - Addo has established three more fire training schools in the country adding that the government was about to start a fourth fire training academy.
The MP indicated these on May 3, 2024 in his speech as the Special Guest of honour at the celebration of the International Fire Fighters Day in the Western Region.
He told the gathering that "plans are far advanced to acquire land for the establishment of a specialized training facility for the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) at Essikado".
The former Minister of Justice and Attorney - General said these developments are remarkable and a quantum leap in the provision of training infrastructure for the GNFS.
Mr Joe Ghartey stressed that this milestone achievement was another reason for Ghanaians to appreciate the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Adminstration and vote for Dr Bawumia as President in the December polls.
