The Concerned Citizens Of Ahafo Ano South - East District, predominantly members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the district, is calling on President Akufo - Addo to immediately sack their District Chief Executive (DCE), Thomas Owusu Ansah from office.

They have expressed displeasure in the lackadaisical attitude of the DCE, Thomas Owusu Ansah, in managing the assembly, implementing policies and programs of central government among others.

In a press conference signed by Fredrick Boakye Asare, Convener of the Group, at Adugyama, the district capital, petitioned the rank and file of the party, traditional authorities and other key stakeholder institutions to act swiftly and support their quest.

According to the group, Mr Owusu Ansah shows up in the office as and when it pleases him and hardly stays around the Ahafo Ano South East district with Adugyama as the capital adding that he runs the office from Kumasi.

The Convenor also accused Mr Owusu Ansah of abusing the highest office of the district, which the Ashanti Regional Minister, Simon Osei Mensah, is privy to.

Citing some instances, Mr Boakye Asare said during the one week funeral observation of the Paramount Chief of Sabronum, the front space of his own office, was where food was cooked and served coupled with its associated noise making.

Mr George Sarfo, the General Secretary of the Group, said we believe 2024 is just around the corner and such conduct by our DCE coupled with his disrespect to the elderly and people of the Ahafo Ano South East district, would cost the party a political misfortune.

The General Secretary indicated that "we are therefore calling on President Akufo - Addo to sack the DCE in order to restore hope in the indigenes ahead of the upcoming 2024 elections".

He bemoaned how security issues in the district have been neglected saying that some completed Police Stations at Adugyama and Sabronum respectively, as well as Adugyama market and others are being left to rot.

The Group has also accused the DCE for allowing the activities of illegal miners to take over the area, destroying water bodies, arable land among other associated negative effects.
