Dr Benjamin Yeboah Sekyere, the Member of Parliament (MP), Tano South, has stated that Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) shapes talent, cultivates creativity and diversity, and transforms individuals to dynamic human resources.
This is the reason why, he noted, over the last seven years, Ghana has invested significantly and introduced transformative policies to elevate skills training in the TVET landscape.
Dr Yeboah Sekyere indicated these on Friday at Techimantia in the Ahafo region, when he donated 100 sewing machines and hairdryers to seamstresses and hairstylists of Techimantia in the Tano South constituency.
The donation, according to him, is to foster entrepreneurship and self - sufficiency, enhance skills and productivity, drive economic growth and job creation among other uncountable benefits to the beneficiaries.
Dr Yeboah Sekyere, who is also the Deputy Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection, said the move is in his quest to create wealth through entrepreneurship and job opportunities to improve the standard of living among constituents especially young persons.
The Tano South Legislator has since 2017, aside the sewing machines and start - up kits, paid the apprentice fee of over 2,000 constituents to learn a vocation.
"I believe in the potential of our artisans more especially my revered women saying that investing in them for socio - economic advancement is key for nation building" he emphasised.
Dr Yeboah Sekyere implored the beneficiary seamstresses and stylists to make prudent use of the sewing machines in order to enjoy its reaping economic benefits to the recipients.
He said the NPP has been faithful to their promise of providing employment for the youth, quality education and skills empowerment, robust health care and unmatched infrastructure development among other impactful programs and policies.
He noted that Alhaji Bawumia, the Flag bearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has proven himself beyond all doubts through his impactful economic and social policies and programs introduced as Vice President, to be the next and better manager of Ghana's resources.
The MP therefore solicited the votes of Ghanaians especially his constituents for Dr Bawumia and the NPP in the upcoming December 7 polls stressing that "our destiny as a country lies in our thumps. Let's vote prudently".
