DORMAA WEST MP DONATES 800 PIECES OF MATHEMATICAL SETS TO BECE CANDIDATES.
The Member of Parliament (MP) for Dormaa West Constituency in the Bono region, Mr Vincent Oppong Asamoah, on Tuesday donated 800 pieces of Mathematical sets to Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates in his constituency.
According to the Ranking Member on Works and Housing Committee in Ghana’s parliament, the mathematical sets would help the candidates in their preparation towards their final Exams, which starts on Monday, 7th august, 2023.
The MP entreated the BECE candidates in the area to learn hard in order to come out with flying colours in their upcoming exams for their future benefits saying that "winners never quit, and quitters never win".
Mr Oppong Asamoah implored officers of the Education Directorate, teachers, parents, the media, religious organisations, traditional authorities and government officials among other stakeholder institutions, to contribute their quota to the development of education in the area.
Alhaji Seiba Abdullah, the Dormaa West Constituency Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and his Secretary, Mr Stephen Awuni , presented the items to the Ghana Education Service (GES), on behalf of the MP.
They pledged Mr Oppong Asamoah's commitment to improve general education and other sectors of the economy in the Dormaa West constituency, for the socio - cultural growth of the area adding that "let us continue to rally behind our MP".
Mr Seth Tawiah, the Human Resource (HR) Officer at the Education Directorate, who received the items on behalf of the service, expressed appreciation to Mr Oppong Asamoah and his executives for their timely gesture.
He hailed the Dormaa west legislature for his dedication to improve teaching and learning in the enclave, and urged him to extend support to other areas of the sector assuring that "we will continue to do our best at the directorate".
The HR Officer admonished the students to use the knowledge and skills acquired in the classroom to make meaningful impact in the exams stressing that your future is in your hands now.
Adisatu Musa, on behalf of the students, thanked Mr Oppong Asamoah for his care and support to them, and promised to use the knowledge learned throughout the nine years period to make
Dormaa West proud.
