A total of 424 covid-19 front line workers across the Bono East Region have been recognized with certificates signed the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo - Addo.
Mr Kwasi Adu - Gyan, the Bono East Regional Minister, together with the Regional Director of Health Service, Dr Frederick Adomako Boateng, joined the various MMDCEs in the region to present the certificates to awardees on behalf of the President.
It will be recalled that on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, President Nana Akufo - Addo conferred state Honors and Awards to some institutions and individuals who distinguished themselves in the country's fight and containment of the dreadful COVID - 19 pandemic.
The Regional Minister urged the awardees and all others who played key roles in diverse ways but could not be nominated for the awards to continue to prioritise the health needs of their clients as they did in preserving lives during the pandemic.
Mr Kwasi Adu Gyan emphasised that the efforts government, the media, front line health professionals among other stakeholders have put the nation on number 3 position globally in the management of the pandemic.
Dr Frederick Adomako - Boateng, in his remarks, urged all those who worked hard during the fight but did not get the certificate not to be discouraged saying "there is time for everyone. Just keep on with what you do.
A total of 19,557 front line health and allied health workers are expected to receive this award across the country.
