The Member of Parliament for Tano South Constituency in the Ahafo region, Dr Benjamin Yeboah Sekyere, and his Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Tano South, Mr Collins Offinam Takyi, have inspected ongoing works on the 40.4 Kilometer (KM) Bechem -Techimantia - Akumadan road.
He was accompanied by the Constituency Executives and supporters of the incumbent New Patriotic Party (NPP), and consultants among other key stakeholder personalities.
The project, when completed, would link Bechem through Techimantia in the Ahafo region, to Akumadan in the Ashanti region and Techiman in the Bono East region.
This will shorten the three - hour drive time from Bechem to Techiman without passing through Sunyani.
Dr Benjamin Yeboah expressed satisfaction with the progress of work after interacting with the workers on - site and paid a glowing tribute to the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo - Addo for giving Tano South a fair share of development projects.
The MP noted that developmental projects in the constituency, particularly the road infrastructure would transform the municipality and also boost the local economy upon completion.
He appealed to residents of the Ahafo region especially Tano South Municipality to rally behind President Akufo - Addo and his government to deliver their promise to Ghanaians saying "we have not relented on our mandate to make the country great and strong".
The project is expected to be completed and opened to traffic by October 2023.
