Mensah Mental Health Rehabilitation Project (MEMHREP), a non-governmental organisation dedicated to promoting mental health awareness and support, on 27th December 2024, embarked on a charitable initiative to donate essential items to vulnerable individuals across the streets of Kumasi in Ghana.
Staff and volunteers of the NGO took to the streets to distribute vital items, including food, clothing, and toiletries to the vulnerable ones in Kumasi the capital city of the Ashanti region of Ghana.
This gesture aimed to bring hope and relief to those struggling with mental health issues and living in challenging circumstances annually.
Currently, MEMHREP’s goal is to complete an ongoing ultra-modern rehab centre in the Ashanti region of Ghana, to cater for the needs of persons living with mental illness.
The facility upon completion will comprise bedroom clusters to accommodate up to 500 people, conference and Chapel/Mosque, Doctors and Nurses bedroom flats, Day clinics, waste treatment plant, and outdoor recreational facilities/parks.
MEMHREP is asking corporate bodies, religious and traditional groups, as well as individuals to help the NGO financially and materially to complete the project.
It is also part of the NGO’s efforts to promote mental health awareness, reduce stigma, and provide support to those affected by mental illness.
Mensah Mental Health Rehabilitation Project (MEMHREP) look forward to collaborating with like-minded organisations to promote mental health and well-being for all in Ghana and beyond.
