Mining Giant, NADAMUMSA Announces Its Presence In Ahafo Region, Promises Ethical And Responsible Operations

Mining giant, NADAMUMSA Company Limited, has announces its presence in Nkaseim in the Asutifi South district of Ahafo Region, with a promise to conduct ethical and responsible underground operations. 

The mining company is conducting prospecting for minerals and onwards responsible large - scale underground extraction of gold in the Nkaseim community after the acquisition of mining lease and certification from other stakeholder institutions.

 NADAMUMSA Mining Company Limited, upon acquisition of mining lease and certification, will extract mineral resources from the earth, operate heavy - duty machinery, conduct safety inspection, process minerals, ensure environmental compliance, resettles affected farmers and inhabitants, and roll - out economic livelihood empowerment interventions.

The management of NADAMUMSA Mining Company Limited paid a courtesy visit to Nana Danso Agyei, the Chief of Nkaseim and the President of Ahafo South Divisional Council on last Friday at his palace in the Asutifi South district. 

Nana Danso Agyei Ababio, implored the mining company to ensure strict compliance with environmental and safety regulations in their activities to add up to the environmental gains in the Ahafo region saying that we have clean water bodies and non - poisoned land. 

This, according to him, will enhance complete environmental protection and restoration including the safeguarding of water bodies, forest reserves, animals and human life against pollution, poisoning and related injuries and preventable deaths among other destructive acts. 

Nana Danso Agyei noted that every responsible mining involves and respects all stakeholders, minimises and take account of its environmental impact, prioritises a fair distribution of economic and financial benefits, delivers safe conditions for personnel and communities. 

He indicated that mining have many benefits including the provision of direct and indirect employment for skilled and unskilled labour force, and the payments of dividends and taxes to the government for economic development.

 The chief also added that other benefits payment of royalties to stool lands for local community development and funding of several infrastructure projects such as schools, hospitals, roads, and sporting facilities among others in the operational areas of the mining company.

Nana Danso Agyei further entreated the management of the company to ensure safer and ethical practices, environmental stewardship, community engagement, balancing productivity with commitment to sustainability and corporate social responsibility. 

He urged the mining company to "conduct restoration of the land at the end of its economic life cycle, maintain positive relationships with local communities and stakeholders. Strictly ensure biodiversity conservation in your operations". 

The chief expressed gratitude to the management and staff of NADAMUMSA Mining Company Limited for exhibiting professionalism, and environmental and safety regulations compliance during the prospecting saying that "I'm convinced that these will be replicated in the main mining operations".

 Mr Edward Akolgo, the Administrator and Human Resource Manager, NADAMUMSA Mining Company Limited, on behalf of management thanked the chiefs and people of Nkaseim for giving them peace and stability in the prospecting period and solicited for same during the main mine.

He promised to offer direct and indirect employment (skilled and unskilled) to all deserving community members especially the youth, ensure socio - economic growth of the community, environmental sustainability among other responsible mining activities. 

The Administrative Manager canvassed for company - community relationship and engagements during its operations to ensure effective communication and dissemination of information and grievances in order to realise a successful coexistence.

 Mr Akolgo entreated members of the community and other key stakeholder institutions in the area guard against all forms of hearsays about the company's activities stressing that effective consultation with us is expedient to peace and unity we are craving for.
